Leaving was hard for a few reasons. First and foremost....my parents are not leaving with us. 2nd and equally as painful....neither is my Sister...and neither are her boys... On the other hand, Harley is taking this trip with us! And the girls and I are firm believers that Nana, Grandpa, Stacey, and Nico...maybe even Tony if we're extra lucky....and Lola and Figaro too... Will be joining us very soon! How could you resist a face like this? But seriously, is this not a beautiful child! She was quite the photographer the whole trip. We had a blast on the trip. One very important jewel was missing though. Kaitlyn. She couldn't ride in the truck as they no longer make BENCH seats in these things. Can you believe that? BUCKET only. Hmmm, no Chevy, don't even THINK about it. You won't fit on my lap! Harley was one of the best dogs I've ever had the joy to travel with. He LOVED it. Chevy was a gem too. He was a bit big for his space, but there was actually plenty of room for him. Mmmmm... McDonald's! Can we have some? So good doggies....Well, maybe you can have a snitch! We saw some incredible scenery along the way. If you have never travelled cross country by car, you are really missing out on life. Now THAT is some gorgeous fog! Curves and windy roads kept us (me, the driver!) on our toes! I did mention Elizabeth had the camera, right? Yeah, I pretty much smiled the whole trip. This terrain left us with our mouthes hanging open, it was so incredibly striking! Yes, I do recall Harley getting sick once in the truck. Chevy, trying out the bed at E's feet. Speed limit: 75. Our speed, 50. The. Whole. Way. I don't know, as I look at these now, they begin to remind me a bit of a spam sandwich or something. No, we weren't headed downhill, I think Elizabeth was experimenting. Wow, look at those toes! Do you know, we've been in Colorado over a month at the time I'm posting these pictures, and those toes are STILL red! My philosophy, don't ever delete a single picture. Someday it could offer clues as to the existence of Big Foot. Yes, horse people DO take pictures of hay stored in mass amounts along the highways...wondering and pondering the cost of each bale sitting underneath This child is cruel, did I mention? :) Movin' Movin' Movin'....Keep them doggies Movin'....rawhide..... Never delete...just add caption and move on. Dear God, thank you for Chevy. He is our treasure chest full of love and joy! And Dear God....thank you for Harley, who's heart is not anything like the motorcycle he was named after. Dalmations do actually smile... So do terrier schnauzer mixes, you know. Sometimes Dalmations just pant. And sometimes little girls take a hundred pictures out a speeding window. Good night doggies... sleep tight. Hurumph! That's a little TOO tight thank you! These two sure love eachother! Still smiling, don't fall asleep, keep going, almost there....three days is not that long to drive...pulling your whole life behind you!
July 8, 2006: Myra enjoyed a
full day of horse showing with Elizabeth and Elizabeth's best friend
Taylor at the Lake Washington Saddle Club Hunter/Jumper Horse Show.
They shared "Magical Me" (aka Magic), with Elizabeth riding him in 6
classes and Taylor riding him in 2. Taylor was supposed to ride
Myra's Arabian Gelding, Mi Nazareth, but due to a last minute trailer
ride issue they were unable to get Naz to the show for Taylor to ride.
Magic was a trooper though and had plenty of energy to carry them both
through a wonderful day at the horse show! Elizabeth earned
several Blue Ribbons in some pretty large classes, and Taylor also
earned a Blue Ribbon and a 3rd place! GOOD JOB GIRLS!

Look at the smile...

Ok, so I know they say the ribbons don't mean anything...but they sure do give you a proud feeling inside when you're holding the only blue out of 10!

Bryanna, Starbuck, Taylor, Magic and Elizabeth...contemplating the many mysteries of a horses's mind.
The contemplation continues, but Meg is giving some very observant input....ah, the mysteries of the horses mind continues!
And the winner is....Taylor on Magical Me! Guess the mystery is solved!

Good Job Taylor and Magic!

Wow...now THIS is a family photo! This is a wonderfully sweet family that takes lessons with Elizabeth's trainer too. The parents are so supportive
If all fathers were this wonderful, the world's problems would probably be solved...look at these two, I love it!
And...did I mention what a great Mother he has too! Count your blessings Alex, your not only sitting on one, you're surrounded by them!
My philosophy is take a ton of pictures and never delete them even if they look almost exactly the same! :) ha...

It's not how many ribbons you get at the show...it's that you stepped into the show ring at all that makes you a winner! |

Curious? Elizabeth is on the left, she has on "straps". These are required for show & help keep your leg from slipping around. |

That's her on the very end, not very good pictures in this arena. I think the lights were flourecent, but they were lining up for placings here! |

One of the really neat things about all this is that Elizabeth and her best friend Taylor take lessons from the same trainer and got to show together! |
